Terms & Conditions Domestic

1. Agreement

These terms and conditions form a binding agreement and YOUR GUARANTEE between Universal Renewables Ltd and all subsidiaries trading as Universal Eco Homes (The Roof Cleaning Experts / East Anglian Spray Foam Removal / Paint My Roof) (“the Business”) and you (“the Customer”) for the provision of goods and services in exchange for payment.

No binding contract exists until the Business issues written or verbal confirmation. The Business may amend or update these terms at any time without notice. An up-to-date version may be requested via post or email.

Acceptance of a quotation constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these terms. The Customer agrees that the Business is indemnified against property damage except where caused by negligence or wilful misconduct. The Business is not liable for damage to loose pipes, gutters, materials, paint, wood, trim, windows, ceilings or similar items identified as pre-existing and documented before and during works.

2. Our Inspection

Where possible, the Business will inspect the Customer’s property prior to agreeing any works, including indoor and outdoor areas, water supply and visible damage. Photographs and/or video will be taken before and after works.

Any visible damage will be noted on the quotation. The Business reserves the right to revise the quotation if further works are identified after commencement.

Minor roof repairs included within roof cleaning services are limited to small repointing works and up to 20 tiles only and exclude ridge and hip tiles.

For site-unseen quotations, the Customer acknowledges that damage may not be identifiable. If further damage is discovered during works, the Business will document it and pause works until the Customer has acknowledged it.

3. Customer Precautions

The Business will take reasonable care to avoid damage to property. Items left in gardens, driveways or near work areas remain at the Customer’s own risk. The Customer must move or protect all items near the work area and inform neighbours of potential risks.

The Customer accepts responsibility for any damage to their own or neighbouring property. External works may result in windows or glass becoming dirty; a separate window clean may be required at the Customer’s cost.

The Customer must inform the Business of any bodies of water, solar panel systems and ensure panels are switched off. The Business may cease work if panels remain active. Faults must be reported within 72 hours with evidence.

The Business will not enter or work on the property unless pets are secured, a competent adult aged 18 or over is present at all times, and no evidence of drug misuse is present. Delays caused by these issues may incur additional charges.

4. Quote for Goods and Services

Quotations are valid for up to three months unless otherwise stated. The Business reserves the right to amend quotations before completion to reflect additional repairs or required works.

5. Consent

The Customer consents to the Business entering their property to carry out agreed works between 7:00am and 5:30pm, including reasonable time to secure the site.

The Business may use the Customer’s outdoor water supply at no cost. If no suitable water supply is available, the Customer must notify the Business in advance and cover any additional costs.

6. Timeframe for Completion of Work

The Business will use reasonable endeavours to meet agreed timescales. Delays may occur due to circumstances beyond control including weather, illness or material delays.

If delays occur, works will be rescheduled and completed within 28 working days where possible, otherwise the agreement may be deemed void.

7. Payment for Services

Payment may be made by bank transfer, debit or credit card (excluding American Express), cash or signed finance completion note.

Deposits of 10–25% may be required. The balance is payable on completion unless staged payments are agreed for multi-day works. Late payments incur interest at 8% above NatWest Bank Plc base rate unless disputed in good faith.

Prices include VAT. VAT changes may be applied unless paid in full beforehand.

8. Provision of Services

All services are carried out by trained staff to industry standards. Services are not intended to cause damage, though defects due to poor maintenance or materials are not the Business’s responsibility.

The Business may use utilities with the Customer’s verbal consent.

8a. Interior Roof Work

Loft spaces must be cleared unless agreed otherwise. The Business is not liable for damage to items left in loft areas.

8b. Spray Foam Removal

The Customer accepts that spray foam removal may cause unavoidable damage to roof felt or structure. No complaints will be accepted regarding this. Waste is removed by a licensed carrier within 48 hours of completion. Full payment is required before waste removal.

8c. Loft Insulation

Foil, Rockwool and Actis insulation products are installed in accordance with manufacturer guidance. Certificates will be issued on completion.

9. Site at Completion

The Business will leave the site reasonably clean and tidy, though some signs of work may remain.

10. Privacy and Publicity

The Business may use photos, videos and reviews for marketing and training. Personal data will not be shared without consent. Calls are recorded for training and monitoring.

11. Repairs and Additional Work

Minor repairs included in quotations will be completed at no additional cost. Additional repairs will be quoted separately. Some materials require time to achieve full effectiveness and are not eligible for immediate remedial works unless proven defective.

12. Damage and Liability

The Business is liable for damage caused by negligence if reported within 72 hours. Repairs will be carried out or arranged by the Business within 30 days.

Liability is limited to the amount paid by the Customer. Water-repellent treatments do not make surfaces waterproof.

Statutory rights remain unaffected.

13. Guarantee

Guarantees include roof coatings (10 years), wall coatings (10 years), wall clear coatings (20 years – Properla products only). Guarantees cover cracking, peeling and flaking only and are issued after full payment.

Soft wash biocide services carry no guarantee.

14. Products Supplied with Warranty

Manufacturer warranties will be provided within 28 working days. Exclusions apply for wear and tear, misuse, alterations and existing defects.

15. Force Majeure

The Business is not liable for delays caused by events beyond its control.

16. Business’s Right to Cancel

If works cannot proceed, any advance payments will be refunded and no further payment will be due.

17. Customer Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 14 days under statutory rights. Deposits are non-refundable after this period. Less than 72 hours’ notice may incur a £300 + VAT charge.

18. Termination and Refunds

Refunds for goods may be requested within 28 working days. No refunds apply where services have commenced.

19. Third Parties

This agreement is personal to the Customer and not enforceable by third parties.

20. Discrimination and Harassment Policy

The Business operates a zero-tolerance policy. Abuse or discrimination will result in immediate work cessation and potential police involvement.

21. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

English law applies. Mediation must be attempted before court proceedings.

21a. Business Complaints Policy

Complaints must be submitted in writing with evidence. The Business has up to 28 working days to investigate.

22. Legal Notice

If any provision is deemed unenforceable, remaining terms remain valid.

The Customer is deemed to have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions without exception.
